Day 1: Milford Sound
Drive or take a coach from Te Anau, cruise the fiord in the morning or afternoon, and return to Te Anau for the night.
Day 2: Doubtful Sound
A short transfer to Manapouri, then the full boat-bus-boat day cruise, returning to Te Anau or on toward Queenstown.
Road distance from the Milford terminal to Manapouri is around 86–87 km, roughly a 1h45m–2h drive via Te Anau. Just don't try to squeeze both into one day — each is a full-day commitment of 7 to 13 hours on its own.
